Several injured in Louisiana car accident

Readers of this blog are no strangers to stories about car crashes. We read about them every day and, sometimes, can become a little jaded to their impact. To the families affected, however, the pain and heartache caused by car accidents can last for years. So can the medical expenses involved in getting victims back to normal through surgery and rehabilitation. Even minor injuries can have long-term effects.

Four people were taken to hospitals with injuries following a recent accident in Claiborne Parish. A Chevy Impala tried to turn left at an intersection and ended getting into a collision with a Dodge. The collision sent the Impala spinning wildly. It eventually hit two other cars. The Dodge, meanwhile, ended up landing upside down. The injuries the four hospitalized individuals suffered were reported as non-life-threatening.

Authorities are conducting an investigation of the accident.

A Louisiana attorney could use several different lines of inquiry to examine a crash like this and try to determine fault. What did the toxicology reports say? Were any of the drivers inattentive or distracted at the time of the crash? Did excessive speed play a part in the accident? Did city officials make sure the intersection was safe, well-lit and outfitted with appropriate signage? Was there clear visibility?

If negligence of another can be proven, victims of auto accidents are sometimes entitled to compensation to help pay for medical bills, make up for lost wages or assuage some of the pain and suffering the crash may have caused.
