Fatal Georgia trucking accident leads to investigation

Louisiana residents may have heard of the accident that took place in Georgia on May 19, when a tractor-trailer collided with two cars and burst into flames on I-16 west of Savannah. The accident happened near the junction with I-95. There were multiple fatalities, including a 71- and 72-year-old couple in one car as well as a 39-year-old driver of another car and her 16- and 19-year-old passengers.

Man injured in Louisiana car crash files lawsuit

An auto accident has led to the filing of a personal injury lawsuit in Louisiana. The plaintiff alleges that he was on U.S. 190 on June 28, 2014, when another vehicle crashed into his. The male driver of the vehicle that hit the plaintiff's car was allegedly trying to make a right turn. The plaintiff claims that he suffered personal injury as a result of the impact.

Lightning strike leads to fatal car accident

On May 15, a couple in Louisiana was killed in a car accident after a vehicle ahead of them was struck by lightning. The fatal accident took place in Evangeline Parish and involved three cars that were all traveling northbound on Interstate 49. Although investigators do not believe that impairment was a factor, toxicology samples were taken from all of the drivers after the accident.

However, it was noted that a vehicle that was traveling at highway speeds could travel approximately 200 feet in the time it takes for a driver to glance at their phone for two seconds.

Lousiana police seek hit-and-run driver who injured 3 cyclists

The Louisiana State Police are seeking the driver of a red pickup truck that was involved in a hit-and-run accident on May 4 that left three cyclists injured. The individual being sought is described as a Caucasian male with short dark colored hair and a goatee. Police say that the man is approximately 6 feet tall. The pickup truck involved may be a Nissan Frontier, and police say that the accident likely left it with significant damage to its front end.

Man from Lafayette killed in crash along I-10

An accident that occurred along Interstate 10 east of Duston resulted in the death of a 92-year-old man from Lafayette. Police reported that the crash took place around 8 a.m. on April 29. The man was driving a Chevy pickup truck westbound along the interstate when it hit a GMC SUV that was stopped in the road. Officials stated that the SUV had stopped due to the presence of vehicles from a prior accident along the highway.

1 Louisiana driver killed in accident, 1 injured moderately

A Louisiana driver was killed in an April 24 accident in the southbound lane of Louisiana Highway 3127. The 19-year-old man was driving a Camaro when he attempted to pass several other vehicles, according to Louisiana State Police Troop C. It was raining when the Camaro driver lost control of his vehicle, which spun clockwise as it was passing a 2010 Dodge Ram, driven by a 51-year-old man from Reserve.
