Man injured in Louisiana car crash files lawsuit

An auto accident has led to the filing of a personal injury lawsuit in Louisiana. The plaintiff alleges that he was on U.S. 190 on June 28, 2014, when another vehicle crashed into his. The male driver of the vehicle that hit the plaintiff's car was allegedly trying to make a right turn. The plaintiff claims that he suffered personal injury as a result of the impact.

In the lawsuit, both the driver and his insurance company, USAA Casualty Insurance Co., are named as defendants. The plaintiff states that the other driver did not yield, failed to pay attention to the traffic situation, did not adhere to a safe distance from other vehicles, and was not paying attention to his driving. The driver received citations for driving while fatigued, making an illegal right turn, and improper lane-crossing.

In his lawsuit, the plaintiff says that as a result of the car accident, he has suffered disability, mental and physical issues, impairment of psychological function, lost wages, medical costs, and a decrease in his enjoyment of daily life. For compensation, he seeks more than $75,000. He also requests reimbursement for fees to pay experts and his attorney.

A person who is injured in a car crash often faces severe financial issues. In many cases, the length of the recovery period results in both high medical expenses as well as lost wages due to an inability to return to work. If the accident was caused by the negligence of another driver, the injured victim might want to meet with a personal injury attorney in order to explore the available remedies.
