Louisiana car accident claims life of 26-year-old woman

A 26-year-old woman was killed in an auto accident involving her car and an 18-wheeler at approximately 2:30 a.m. on July 3 in Madison Parish. It remains unclear as to what made the woman, who was from Long Beach, California, crash her vehicle.

According to the crash reconstruction, the woman's 2015 Chevrolet Impala was heading east on Interstate 20 with a 2005 Kenworth truck in front of her. The woman crashed her vehicle into the back of the truck. When she hit the truck, her vehicle was engulfed in flames and destroyed.

After the accident, the 41-year-old male truck driver from Georgia was tested for alcohol, but none was found in his system. The deceased woman had blood taken and it will be analyzed. It is still not known what occurred to cause the woman to run into the rear of the 18-wheeler. There have been 22 fatal motor vehicle accidents investigated by the same law enforcement troop this year alone. In these accidents, 24 people have died.

While the reason for this accident is still under investigation, there are certain truths that an auto accident victim and the families of those who died in a car crash may want to remember. There can be massive medical expenses, lost wages plus other economic costs that can arise due to car accident injuries. In many instances, the only way to pay for treatment, rehabilitation and recovery is to seek compensation through a legal filing. Before pursuing such a case, a victim may want to consult with a legal professional.
