Louisiana car crash kills 2

On Behalf of | Aug 9, 2014 | Car Accidents |

It is a sad fact that with so many vehicles on the roads, car accidents are a common occurrence. In some cases, the victims may escape with only minor injuries, although the event itself can still be deeply traumatic. The less fortunate may suffer lifelong injuries, which may leave them unable to work or in need of constant care. Worse still, many of these accidents cost lives, as was the case in New Orleans when a car crashed into a concrete column.

It was around 5:30 p.m. when the accident occurred. The car in question is said to have been traveling the off-ramp of the interstate, when the driver appeared to lose control. The vehicle collided with the column, bursting into flames. All the while, the driver and passenger, two men in their thirties, remained inside.

It is unknown how or why the driver lost control, but it is possible that an investigation into the incident will be conducted. In order to establish an accurate cause of death, the Orleans Parish coroner is going to conduct an autopsy. Blood and alcohol tests of the victims are also pending.

Whatever the outcome of these investigations, it can do nothing to restore these men to their families. Sadly, accidents like this are all too common and can often affect multiple vehicles and multiple victims.

If you or a loved one get caught up in such an accident, you may be at a loss for what to do next. An attorney can advise you on your options, whether you choose to challenge a responsible party, or make a claim on your insurance. With the right support you may be able to increase your chances of receiving the remuneration you deserve.
