Authorities in Louisiana have reported that a 33-year-old woman has died as a result of injuries she suffered on Nov. 24 in a two-car collision. Three passengers in the woman’s car and a passenger in the second car were also hurt. The car accident took place near the Sun town limits at approximately 5:30 p.m.
According to the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office, the woman’s Dodge Stratus was proceeding southbound on Louisiana Highway 21 when it struck the rear of a Chevrolet Corvette. The Chevrolet had been slowing down to enter a parking lot at the time of the collision. Both of the vehicles involved came to a rest in the median.
Paramedics soon arrived at the scene, and the Mississippi resident behind the wheel of the Dodge was transported by ambulance to a medical facility in Lacombe for treatment along with a minor who had been a passenger in the car. The hospital reported later that the woman had died as a result of her injuries. A 30-year-old passenger in the Dodge was seriously injured in the crash, and a helicopter was called in to transport her to a medical center in Hammond. Another minor in the Dodge was transported to the Lakeview Regional Medical Center in Covington by paramedics along with a 39-year-old woman who had been a passenger in the Chevrolet. There were no immediate reports regarding the severity of the injuries suffered in the accident.
