On Behalf of | Mar 5, 2015 | Car Accidents |

An investigation into a fatal car crash that took place near New Orleans has revealed the victim to be a 66-year-old man from Baton Rouge. Thus far, the other driver involved is facing a reckless operation charge. The man who died in the accident was driving an SUV and was hit by another car, which sent his SUV flying through the air. This all happened in the early morning hours around 5 a.m. on Feb. 22.

The other driver reportedly told police he was speeding on his way to work when the car crash occurred. In addition to a reckless operation charge, the man was allegedly driving with a suspended license.

The victim in the accident was reportedly wearing his seat belt. The other involved man was taken to a nearby hospital and quickly released to the police for questioning. At the police station, the man reportedly admitted to the police that he was speeding. A statement that was released by the police in regard to this accident says additional charges are possible. The nature of this accident did not stop interstate traffic as it occurred off of the traveling lanes.

An individual who is dealing with the loss of a loved one involved in a fatal car accident may be wise to consult a personal injury attorney. In many cases, attorneys can help with compensation as well as gaining closure for a wrongful death. An attorney could ease the process along for someone who is grieving and needs help.
