Man files lawsuit after being injured in a truck accident

| May 23, 2016 | Truck Accidents |

Drivers in Louisiana are undoubtedly aware of the number of large trucks with which they share the road. Their prominence often obscures the dangers of being in a truck accident, but it is a constant concern nonetheless. Given the large size of these vehicles and the numerous factors that can cause a semi-truck crash, it is important that those who are injured in a truck accident know what to do after it has happened. Such is the case with one particular man who was injured in a trucking accident.

The man filed a lawsuit for an accident that occurred in June 2015. In this crash, the man states that his 1998 Crown Victoria was hit in the back by a 2014 Freightliner. The driver of the Crown Victoria was bounced around in his vehicle. Because of this, he says that he has had emotional, psychological and personal injuries that are ongoing.

The man names the driver of the truck, the driver’s employer and the insurer in the filing. He asserts that these entities are responsible for allowing the driver to stay on the road in spite of him not having the proper qualifications and/or being reckless, not having been properly screened to ensure that he drove safely and allowing him to drive with truck driver fatigue. The man is seeking a jury trial.

If a truck driver is too fatigued to be on the road or is not qualified, and he or she causes an accident, then those who are seriously injured in a truck accident need to be aware of how to seek compensation in a legal filing with help from an experienced legal professional. A personal injury lawyer could help to bring a lawsuit against the negligent trucking company.
